about the local chapter

History - The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Philippines chapter was established on March 15, 2000 by its founder, Captain Conrado G. Dumlao. ACFE Philippines is the 97th out of the 136 local chapters of ACFE International worldwide. This professional organization is dedicated in educating professionals in fighting fraud. An ACFE member who is a designated Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) has earned certification after a rigorous qualification process.

The Philippines chapter is managed by its members through an elected chapter officers made up of professionals who give their time and effort to help promote the chapter.

Professional Skills - Certified Fraud Examiners come from various professions such as auditors, accountants, fraud investigators, lawyers, educators, and law enforces. CFEs are knowledgeable in four major areas critical to the fight against fraud: Fraudulent Financial Transactions, Criminology and Ethics, Legal Elements of Fraud, and Fraud Investigation. CFEs have the ability to identify an entity's vulnerability to fraud, examine data and records to detect and trace fraudulent transactions, interview personnel to obtain information, write fraud examination reports, advise clients about findings and testify at trial, and advise on improving fraud prevention and deterrence measures.
